What kind of writing do you do?

I am a fiction writer. I gravitate towards writing horror and paranormal stories. I occasionally dabble in poetry and I once wrote a children’s story.

Who are your favorite authors/writers?

I love to read. My love of reading started with V.C. Andrews and J.K. Rowling. Since then I’ve developed new favorites Stephen King, Gillian Flynn, Holly Black, Saralee Rosenburg, and Lindsey Behee. Although I find new favorites all the time.

What writing projects are you currently working on?

I’m currently working on what I hope to be a novel with the working title of The Tithe.

What challenges do you overcome on a regular basis so that you can write?

I feel I get in my own way, I procrastinate. Carving out time to let the creativity flow can feel overwhelming, but when I just sit down and let the words flow, I feel in my zone. I’m also a stay at home mother and wife so finding balance between writing and family responsibilities is a line I at times struggle with.

What would you say to someone who wants to write, but is hesitant?

You can do this! Believe in yourself and just start writing! It may seem overwhelming and scary but anything worth doing can be overwhelming and scary. If I can do it so can you. Even if nobody reads your work that’s ok, do it for you!

What impact do you hope your writing makes on the world?

I would love to inspire someone to pick up a pen and start writing if that’s something they’ve put on the back burner. Be open to your creativity! Paint, write, explore the world through the lens of a camera. Be creative it’s worth it.

Where can readers find your work?

My writing can be found on Amazon.
