What kind of writing do you do?

I mostly write fiction that leans more towards paranormal topics, but I wouldn’t say I limit myself to that. I’ve been known to write some blogs, though I’ve never been good at keeping up with regular blog posts. Ultimately, I just write whatever’s stuck in my brain begging to come out.

Who are your favorite authors/writers?

I love reading Chuck Palahniuk, Stephen King, Anna Timperley, and I can’t wait to read more fiction from Keith E. Smith!

What writing projects are you currently working on?

I’ve been in a busy season and haven’t been able to focus on writing projects as much as I’d hoped, but I have a couple in the works, including two paranormal-like stories and a couple of children’s stories!

What challenges do you overcome on a regular basis so that you can write?

My biggest challenge is myself. It’s so easy to say ‘finding the time’, but we all have the same 24 hours in a day. I do have two young children, so I won’t deny that I am busy, but the two books I’ve published in their lifetimes show that it’s possible, so I am my biggest challenge. It’s a bitter cycle of feeling like you don’t have the time, making the time, feeling great about your writing, feeling like an imposter, stopping writing, repeat. It’s something I’m working on.

What would you say to someone who wants to write, but is hesitant?

Just write. You don’t have to share it with anyone (though I encourage you to, if that’s what you want! Even if you’re scared.) Just write. Get it out of your brain and on to paper (or a scrap of envelope, or an app on your phone). Just do it! No one’s asking you to be classic literature like Jane Austen, or even modern-classics like JK Rowling or Stephen King. Just get the words out!

What impact do you hope your writing makes on the world?

I love the escape a good book brings, and I would love to be that escape for someone else. I would also love it if I could inspire someone else to write.

Where can readers find your work?

My published works can be found on Amazon. My blog can be found here, but be warned, I post sporadically and not on any sort of schedule.
